BACKGROUND:

 

There remain in the RCW numerous references to gender- specific language which is outdated.

 

SUMMARY:

 

Outdated gender-specific language used in the RCW is deleted or modified.  Examples include replacing the word "workmen" with "workers" or "persons," "journeymen" is replaced by "journey level worker," and "him" is supplemented with "or her."
