BACKGROUND:

 

Costs of financing election campaigns for school district board of director positions have increased.

 

SUMMARY:

 

After notice and public hearing, a school district board of directors may establish reasonable total dollar limits on campaign expenditures.  A board may establish limits on individuals' campaign contributions.  The board may authorize the expenditure of excess levy funds for direct campaign purposes on a matching basis with private funds.
