BACKGROUND:
The Department of Fisheries disposes of salmon eggs and salmon in the round primarily by means of sale. Funds from the sale of eggs and carcasses goes into the state general fund.
SUMMARY:
Money from the sale of salmon or salmon parts (eggs) shall be placed in a separate account of the state treasurer and will be subject to legislative appropriation. The monies will be used for the benefit of volunteer fisheries enhancement programs which are set forth in Chapter 75.52 RCW.
EFFECT OF PROPOSED SUBSTITUTE:
The monies will be used for all salmon enhancement programs.
