BACKGROUND:

 

Certain kinds of property, such as agricultural and farm land, are located predominately on the east side of the state.  It is felt that someone from the eastside would be more sensitive to and better understand how to assess these lands for tax purposes.

 

SUMMARY:

 

One member of the Tax Appeals Board shall reside east of the crest of the Cascade mountains.  The residency requirement shall be established at the time of appointment.
