SYNOPSIS AS ENACTED
BACKGROUND:
In 1988 the Legislature authorized the creation of the Conditional Nurse Scholarship Program for students enrolled in nurse training programs who declare an intention to serve in a nurse shortage area. Scholarships are available to students who attend nurse training and education programs at community colleges, vocational-technical schools, or universities in the state of Washington. Inadvertently, private colleges who offer nurse training programs were not included and students attending these colleges are not eligible to participate in the program.
SUMMARY:
Private colleges with nurse training programs are included as participating institutions in the Conditional Nurse Scholarship Program. Students enrolled in these programs are eligible to receive scholarships.
