BACKGROUND:

 

Retired members of the Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) whose membership in TRS began prior to October 1, 1977, are allowed to be employed by a public educational institution in the state of Washington up to 75 days per school year without penalty to their retirement benefit.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The days allowed for employment of a TRS retiree in a Washington public educational institution without penalty to the retiree's retirement benefit is increased from 75 days per school year to 95 days per school year.
