AS REPORTED BY COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION, FEBRUARY 16, 1989
BACKGROUND:
The formula for funding schools adopted by the Legislature for the 1987-88 school year reflects a ratio of four certificated administrative staff to 1,000 annual average full time equivalent students enrolled in grades kindergarten through 12. Approximately 66 school districts enroll fewer than 250 children, and therefore do not receive sufficient funds to support one full-time administrator.
SUMMARY:
School districts are assured they will receive an allocation to support at least one certificated administrative staff.
Appropriation: none
Revenue: none
Fiscal Note: requested February 9, 1989
