                         SYNOPSIS AS ENACTED

 

BACKGROUND:

 

Article 15 of the Washington State Constitution directs the Legislature to create a commission to establish harbor lines.  The Legislature has designated the Board of Natural Resources as the Harbor Line Commission.  The Harbor Line Commission is authorized to establish, relocate or re-establish harbor lines by RCW 79.92.030.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The Harbor Line Commission is given legislative authority to establish harbor lines for Oakland Bay, in front of the City of Shelton in Mason County, and for Gig Harbor in Pierce County.  Harbor lines will be set within one mile of each city limit.
