BACKGROUND:

The State Board of Education may grant waivers from the "total program hour offering" requirements of the Basic Education Act to school districts to implement local plans to provide an enhanced educational program for each student in the district.  The state board adopts criteria to evaluate the need for the waiver or waivers.

SUMMARY:

The State Board of Education shall grant to any requesting school district a waiver from compliance with the "total program hour offering" requirements of the Basic Education Act of 1977.
