BACKGROUND:

 

Last year, the crime of residential burglary was created (RCW 9A.52.030).  The intent of the statute is to increase penalties for residential burglary above those for burglary in the second degree.  However, a related statute which specifies how offender scores are to be calculated was not amended to include the crime of residential burglary.

 

SUMMARY:

 

The statute governing offender scoring rules is amended to include the crime of residential burglary.
