AS REPORTED BY COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS, JANUARY 23, 1990

BACKGROUND:

Currently, short plats and final plats are not required to show lot numbers and house addresses.  Requiring lot numbers and house addresses on plats would aid emergency services personnel in locating homes under construction.

SUMMARY:

Cities, towns and counties are directed to include requirements for a lot numbering system and a house address system in their short plat regulations and procedures.

A lot numbering system and a house address system are required as a condition of subdivision approval and must be clearly shown on the final plat.

Appropriation:    none

Revenue:    none

Fiscal Note:      none requested
