AS REPORTED BY COMMITTEE ON ENERGY & UTILITIES, JANUARY 18, 1990

BACKGROUND:

The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission has authority to set the date for public service companies to file annual reports.  The WUTC also requires these companies to pay annual regulatory fees.

Allowing the WUTC to set the date for payment of fees as the same date for filing annual reports would result in more efficient WUTC administration.

SUMMARY:

Regulatory fees for public service companies are due on the date the WUTC sets by rule for filing annual reports.

Appropriation:  none

Revenue:   none

Fiscal Note:    available
