AN ACT Relating to state employees' pay checks; and adding a new section to chapter 41.04 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 41.04 RCW to read as follows:

          Officials of the state or any of its political subdivisions authorized to disburse funds in payment of salaries or wages of state employees shall disburse payroll funds to state employees on Friday of every other week beginning on July 7, 1989.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.     This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect July 1, 1989.
