AN ACT Relating to the recall of county officials; and adding a new section to chapter 36.16 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 36.16 RCW to read as follows:

          The necessary expenses may be paid by the county for defending a county official at the hearing before the superior court under RCW 29.82.023, on whether or not the acts stated in a recall charge against the county official satisfy the criteria for which a recall petition has been filed, if approval has been given by both action of the county legislative authority and the prosecuting attorney.
