AN ACT Relating to electrical installations; and adding a new section to chapter 19.28 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 19.28 RCW to read as follows:

          The provisions of RCW 19.28.010 through 19.28.360 shall not apply, nor shall any city or town electrical construction ordinance apply, to the work of installing, maintaining, or repairing any and all electrical installations or equipment used or to be used by a business within its own facilities if the business has a full production power demand above three hundred fifty megawatts and employs its own inspectors who either exceed the qualifications set forth in RCW 19.28.070 or are qualified under the national electrical code and the electrical installation or equipment meets or exceeds the requirements enforced by the department of labor and industries under RCW 19.28.010 through 19.28.300.
