AN ACT Relating to funding for all-day kindergarten; and adding a new section to chapter 28A.41 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28A.41 RCW to read as follows:

          In addition to state funds provided to school districts under this chapter, the legislature shall appropriate funds to fully fund an all-day kindergarten program for any school district that chooses to implement such a program.  Such funds are not part of the district's basic education allocation and shall not be considered part of the district's levy reduction funds.
