AN ACT Relating to higher education for placebound students; and adding a new section to chapter 28B.80 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28B.80 RCW to read as follows:

          The higher education coordinating board shall conduct an assessment of upper-division and graduate level programs and courses needed by placebound students living in areas of the state not addressed by the board's branch campus initiative.  The assessment shall include consideration of the needs in Clallam and Jefferson counties.  The board shall also consider alternatives for the delivery of such programs and courses.  The board shall report its findings and recommendations to the governor and the house of representatives and senate committees on higher education by September 1, 1992.
