AN ACT Relating to the rental of state-owned tidelands and bedlands; and amending RCW 79.90.495.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 10, chapter 221, Laws of 1984 and RCW 79.90.495 are each amended to read as follows:

          If state-owned aquatic lands are used for aquaculture production or harvesting, the department shall obtain a fair market value for the use of the state-owned lands.  Rents and fees shall be established through competitive bidding or negotiation.
