AN ACT Relating to enticement; adding a new section to chapter 9A.44 RCW; and prescribing penalties.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 9A.44 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) A person is guilty of enticement when he or she knowingly attempts to cause another person under sixteen years of age or who is developmentally disabled to enter his or her motor vehicle for the purpose of committing a sexual offense as set forth in this chapter:

          (a) By promising the person a reward for entering the vehicle;

          (b) By falsely stating that the invitation is at the request of a family member; or

          (c) By falsely stating that a family member has been injured or is ill and sent him or her.

          (2) Enticement is a gross misdemeanor.
