AN ACT Relating to recordkeeping; creating a new section; and making an appropriation.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.     The department of agriculture shall examine the recordkeeping requirements established by government for farm and ranch operations in this state.  The recordkeeping requirements to be examined include those which apply specifically to farm and ranch operations and those which apply to farmers and ranchers as business operators and employers, as well as any consolidated reporting requirements implementing RCW 49.30.005(2).  The purpose of the study shall be to identify those requirements that could be consolidated and those that could be streamlined or reduced and still accomplish the objectives of the laws they are intended to implement.  The department shall report its recommendations to the legislature concerning these recordkeeping requirements by January 1, 1991.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.     The sum of five thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated to the department of agriculture from the general fund for the biennium ending June 30, 1991, to carry out  the purposes of this act.
