AN ACT Relating to the authority of third class cities to operate cable television systems; and adding a new section to chapter 35.92 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 35.92 RCW to read as follows:
A third class city may also construct, condemn and purchase, purchase, acquire, add to, alter, maintain, and operate a cable television system for the purpose of furnishing the city or town and its inhabitants, and any other persons, with cable television services. A city operating a cable television system shall have full authority to regulate and control the use, distribution, and price of the services, together with the right to handle and sell or lease, any meters, equipment, or accessories of any kind, necessary and convenient for the use, distribution, and sale of the services.
