AN ACT Relating to business and occupation tax exemption for nonprofit corporations organized for public safety; and adding a new section to chapter 82.04 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 82.04 RCW to read as follows:

          This chapter does not apply to the gross income derived by a nonprofit corporation organized and operated for the purpose of setting standards and testing for public safety, which is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended.
