AN ACT Relating to the prevention of food fish and shellfish pests; and amending RCW 75.08.285.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 75.16.030, chapter 12, Laws of 1955 as amended by section 29, chapter 46, Laws of 1983 1st ex. sess. and RCW 75.08.285 are each amended to read as follows:

(1) The director may prohibit the introduction, transportation or transplanting of food fish, shellfish, organisms, material, or other equipment which in the director's judgment may transmit any disease or pests affecting food fish or shellfish.

(2) The director shall not authorize the use of the pesticide sevin for the control of ghost shrimp in the proximity of critical crab habitat or in estuaries utilized by juvenile anadromous fish species.
