AN ACT Relating to easements for electrical transmission lines; and adding a new section to chapter 84.36 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 84.36 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) The real property within easements acquired for electrical transmission lines across land classified or designated as forest land under chapter 84.33 RCW is exempt from taxation.

          (2) This section applies only to easements acquired by the federal government, a public utility district, a municipal utility, an electrical company as defined in RCW 80.04.010, or a nonprofit cooperative or mutual corporation organized under chapter 24.03 or 24.06 RCW that generates or transmits electricity.
