AN ACT Relating to fund-raising activities for individuals during legislative sessions; and adding a new section to chapter 42.17 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 42.17 RCW to read as follows:

          Fund-raising activities for an individual candidate who is currently a legislator seeking any state elective office shall not be held during a legislative session unless an extraordinary legislative session is held after the close of the filing period for legislative office and before the general election or unless the general election will be held within thirty days of the end of a legislative session.  This section does not apply to a legislator whose recall is demanded.
