AN ACT Relating to a special senior citizen salmon and steelhead bank fishing recreation area; adding a new section to chapter 75.08 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 77.12 RCW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 75.08 RCW to read as follows:

          The director shall establish a senior citizen salmon bank fishing area in the Columbia river for the entire river bank area from six hundred feet below Bonneville dam fishway to the Megler-Astoria bridge.  The purpose of establishing the bank fishing area is to allow persons seventy years old and older to fish for salmon from the river bank on a year-round basis.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 77.12 RCW to read as follows:

          The wildlife commission shall establish a senior citizen steelhead bank fishing area on the Columbia river for the entire river bank area from six hundred feet below Bonneville dam fishway to the Megler-Astoria bridge.  The purpose of establishing the bank fishing area is to allow persons seventy years old and older to fish for steelhead from the river bank on a year-round basis.
