AN ACT Relating to community corrections officers; and amending RCW 9.95.250.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 8, chapter 227, Laws of 1957 as last amended by section 43, chapter 136, Laws of 1981 and RCW 9.95.250 are each amended to read as follows:

(1) In order to carry out the provisions of ((this)) chapter 9.95 RCW or chapter 72.04A RCW, the parole officers working under the supervision of the secretary of corrections shall be known as ((probation and parole)) community corrections officers.

(2) Community corrections officers may, at their discretion, carry firearms during the course of their duties.
