AN ACT Relating to the homestead exemption; and amending RCW 6.13.030.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

        Sec. 1.  Section 24, chapter 64, Laws of 1895 as last amended by section 203, chapter 442, Laws of 1987 and RCW 6.13.030 are each amended to read as follows:

          A homestead may consist of lands, as described in RCW 6.13.010, regardless of area, but the homestead exemption amount shall not exceed the lesser of (i) the total net value of the lands, mobile home, and improvements as described in RCW 6.13.010, or (ii) the sum of ((thirty)) thirty-five thousand dollars.
