AN ACT Relating to individuals receiving community mental health services; and adding a new section to chapter 71.05 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 71.05 RCW to read as follows:

          (1) Each department of social and health services contractor who is providing community mental health services shall adopt a policy of patient rights and quality assurance in regard to the services being rendered.

          (2) The patient rights policy required in subsection (1) of this section shall be prominently posted in all contractor facilities, institutions, and hospitals providing these services.

          (3) The policy of patient rights required by subsection (1) of this section are in addition to, and do not replace, those patient rights set forth in RCW 71.05.360 through 71.05.380.
