AN ACT Relating to criminal justice training commission public safety and education account appropriation; amending section 224, chapter 19, Laws of 1989 1st ex. sess. (uncodified); and creating a new section.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.     The legislature intends to provide children and young adults with ongoing education by officers of the D.A.R.E. program about the dangers of drug abuse.  The legislature recognizes that in these times, when the future of our state rests with children and young adults, it is imperative that they be of sound mind and body.  The legislature intends that Project D.A.R.E. be provided with four additional officer training classes for the prevention of drug abuse.

 

        Sec. 2.   Section 224, chapter 19, Laws of 1989 1st ex. sess. (uncodified) is amended to read as follows:
