AN ACT Relating to Pierce College; adding a new section to chapter 28B.50 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 72.01 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28B.50 RCW to read as follows:

          By July 1, 2001, the board of trustees of Pierce College shall transfer all classes, faculty, and administrative functions to the campus located in the Puyallup area.  By July 1, 1992, the board of trustees of Pierce College and the state board for community college education shall develop a plan to be incorporated into the legislative budget request to implement this section.  No funds may be expended on capital improvements for facilities located on Western state hospital property, except expenditures for emergency conditions that affect life and safety.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 72.01 RCW to read as follows:

          By July 1, 2001, the department shall terminate all leases with Pierce College under which the college uses property managed by the department for Western state hospital.
