AN ACT Relating to health care insurance claims; adding a new section to chapter 48.02 RCW; adding a new section to chapter 48.20 RCW; adding a new section to chapter 48.21 RCW; adding a new section to chapter 48.44 RCW; adding a new section to chapter 48.46 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 48.84 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.02 RCW to read as follows:

          The commissioner shall develop a uniform health care insurance claim form to be used by all providers licensed under chapters 48.20, 48.44, 48.46, and 48.84 RCW.  The commissioner may establish an advisory committee to assist in implementing the uniform claim form system, which shall be in place by July 1, 1992.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 48.20 RCW to read as follows:

          After July 1, 1992, the uniform health care insurance claim form developed by the commissioner under section 1  of this act shall be accepted for all disability insurance policies that provide coverage for hospital or medical expenses.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 3.  A new section is added to chapter 48.21 RCW to read as follows:

          After July 1, 1992, the uniform health care insurance claim form developed by the commissioner under section 1 of this act shall be accepted for all group disability insurance policies that provide coverage for hospital or medical expenses.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 4.  A new section is added to chapter 48.44 RCW to read as follows:

          After July 1, 1992, the uniform health care insurance claim form developed by the commissioner under section 1  of this act shall be accepted for all health care insurance contracts that provide coverage for hospital or medical expenses.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 5.  A new section is added to chapter 48.46 RCW to read as follows:

          After July 1, 1992, the uniform health care insurance claim form developed by the commissioner under section 1  of this act shall be accepted for all health maintenance agreements that provide coverage for hospital or medical expenses.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 6.  A new section is added to chapter 48.84 RCW to read as follows:

          After July 1, 1992, the uniform health care insurance claim form developed by the commissioner under section 1  of this act shall be accepted for all long-term care insurance policies and benefit contracts that provide coverage for hospital or medical expenses.
