AN ACT Relating to discipline of assistants of health care professionals; and adding a new section to chapter 18.130.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 18.130 RCW to read as follows:
Any assistant to a licensee governed by RCW 18.130.040 who is granted a right to practice by statutory exemption, authorization, or disciplining authority rule shall be subject to discipline by the disciplining authority of the profession (1) upon a finding of unprofessional conduct as defined in RCW 18.130.180, or (2) upon a determination that the individual is unable to practice with reasonable skill or safety due to a physical or mental condition as described in RCW 18.130.170.
Such unlicensed individuals shall have the same rights of notice, hearing, and judicial review as provided to licensees according to chapter 18.130 RCW. The disciplining authority shall have the same authority as provided under RCW 18.130.050.
