AN ACT Relating to automobile insurance; and adding a new section to chapter 48.30 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.30 RCW to read as follows:

          An applicant for an initial or renewal automobile insurance policy shall not be denied coverage or have his or her insurance rates influenced based on information in the applicant's credit report.

          A violation of this section shall constitute an unfair act or practice in violation of chapter 19.86 RCW.
