AN ACT Relating to degrees offered at branch campuses; adding a new section to chapter 28B.45 RCW; and creating a new section.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. It is the intent of the legislature to ensure and protect the integrity and quality of degrees offered through programs at branch campuses. It is the intent of the legislature that the quality of instruction at the branch campuses be equal to that on the main campuses of the institutions offering the degrees.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. A new section is added to chapter 28B.45 RCW to read as follows:
All baccalaureate and graduate level degrees offered by state institutions of higher education through programs at branch campuses shall be granted with the same designations as those granted to students on the main campus of the institution offering the degree. Institutions offering degrees shall make no separate designation of any kind denoting that the degree is granted at, or by, a branch campus. All degrees offered at a branch campus shall be the same as those granted at the main campus of the offering institution.
