AN ACT Relating to reports on decisions affecting timber harvest and processing; creating a new section; and declaring an emergency.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.     By June 1, 1990, and quarterly thereafter, the office of the governor and the commissioner of public lands shall jointly report to the appropriate committees of the senate and the house of representatives on the response of the state to any decisions by the federal government, the court system, or other developments affecting timber harvest and timber processing in Washington state.

 

          NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.     This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
