AN ACT Relating to the release of offenders; and adding a new section to chapter 9.94A RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 9.94A RCW to read as follows:

          When a person is released from a prison in this state, the person shall be taken to the area where he or she was arrested for the crime for which the offender was imprisoned.  The person shall report the location of his or her residence to the local law enforcement authorities.  The person shall also report his or her residence to the local law enforcement authorities in the area in which the prison is located.
