The Senate was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Vice President Pro Tempore Morton. The Secretary called the roll and announced to the Vice President Pro Tempore that all Senators were present except Senators Anderson, Deccio, Fairley, Finkbeiner, Goings, Hochstatter, Long, McAuliffe, McCaslin, Roach, Stevens and Winsley. On motion of Senator Hale, Senators Anderson, Deccio, Finkbeiner, Hochstatter, Long, McCaslin, Roach, Stevens and Winsley were excused. On motion of Senator Franklin, Senators Fairley, Goings and McAuliffe were excused.
The Sergeant at Arms Color Guard, consisting of Pages James Burke and Erica Roberts, presented the Colors. Reverend William Hallahan, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church of Seattle, and a guest of Senator Mike Heavey, offered the prayer.
MOTION
On motion of Senator Johnson, the reading of the Journal of the previous day was dispensed with and it was approved.
