EXCEPTIONS: | 1. Fire flow is not required for structures under 500 square feet (46 m2) with a B, U or R-1 occupancy where structures are at least 30 feet (9144 mm) from any other structure and are used only for recreation. |
2. In rural and suburban areas in which adequate and reliable water supply systems do not exist, the fire code official is authorized to utilize NFPA 1142 or the International Wildland-Urban Interface Code. |
