(1) Ecology will administer the research portion of the permit fee to carry out the recommendations of the task force. In carrying out the recommendations, ecology may conduct, cause to be conducted, or approve of a study or studies to explore and test economical and practical alternative practices to agricultural burning. To conduct the study, ecology may contract with public or private entities. Any approved study must provide for the identification of the alternatives as soon as possible.
(2) No less than every two years, the task force will review research needs and submitted proposals and make its recommendations to ecology.
