Access to machines, overhead sheaves, shackles, and hitch supports.

When the machine space is provided inside the hoistway, maintainable items on the machine, overhead sheaves, shackles, and hitch supports shall not be located more than 1981.2 mm (78 in.) from the horizontal plane of the car top.

Measurement must be taken with the car on or below the normal terminal stopping device.
