When lockout or tagout devices must be temporarily removed from the energy isolating device and the machine or equipment energized to test or position the machine or equipment, the following sequence of actions must be followed:
(1) Clear the machine or equipment of tools and materials according to WAC
296-307-32033 (1)(a).
(2) Remove employees from the machine or equipment area according to WAC
296-307-32033 (1)(b).
(3) Remove the lockout or tagout devices as specified in WAC
296-307-32033(3).
(4) Energize and proceed with testing or positioning.
(5) Deenergize all systems and reapply energy control measures in accordance with WAC
296-307-32031 to continue the servicing and/or maintenance.
