(1) Class 12 and 13 permits are valid for five years. A class 12 or 13 permit expires on the first day of the month, five years following the month a student passes the standardized exam. For example, if a student passes the standardized exam on June 15, 2010, their class 12 or 13 permit will expire on July 1, 2015.
(2) A permit holder must retake a class 12 or 13 training course and pass the standardized exam to obtain a subsequent class 12 or 13 permit.
