Decisions on responsibility by the SCO, the SAB, or the SCB are made using the preponderance of evidence standard of proof. These decisions become final after fifteen calendar days from the date of notification to the student unless a written appeal is filed with the SCO prior to that final date. A decision to drop the charges, issue a warning, and/or to only document the case, are not subject to appeal unless the case involves sexual misconduct (see WAC
132S-100-420 and
132S-100-425). All decision notifications by the SCO, SCB, or SAB will include the outcome for the decision and the procedures for appealing that decision. Decisions on an appeal from the president of the college or their designee are final.
