The basic arrest, search, and seizure academy curriculum of the commission will be the second required academy for certification as a community corrections officer. The length must be at least forty instructional hours in length and will include, but not be limited to, the following subject matter areas:
(1) Core skills
(a) Arrest procedures
(b) Search procedures
(c) Field safety techniques
(2) Key skills
(a) Verbal deescalation
(b) Home assessments
(3) Related skills
(a) Dealing with aggressive and resistive behavior
(b) Legal issues
(c) Evidence procedures
(d) Personal safety
(e) Security management.
