Fall protection.
(1) General requirements.
(a) Fall protection will be in accordance with chapter
296-155 WAC, Part C-1, Fall protection requirements for construction.
(b) During steel erection activities, fall protection must be as required by chapter
296-155 WAC, Part C-1. Additionally, on multistory structures, you must install perimeter safety cables at the final interior and exterior perimeters of the floors as soon as metal decking has been installed. See Appendix D.
(2)
Connectors. Each connector must: Have completed connector training in accordance with WAC
296-155-717.
(3) Custody of fall protection. Fall protection provided by the steel erector must remain in the area where steel erection activity has been completed, to be used by other trades, only if the controlling contractor or its authorized representative:
(a) Has directed the steel erector to leave the fall protection in place; and
(b) Has inspected and accepted control and responsibility of the fall protection prior to authorizing persons other than steel erectors to work in the area.

(b) During steel erection activities, fall protection must be as required by chapter 296-880 WAC, Unified safety standards for fall protection. Additionally, on multistory structures, you must install perimeter safety cables at the final interior and exterior perimeters of the floors as soon as metal decking has been installed. See Appendix D.
