(1) The term "blossoming alfalfa, mint or clover" as used in WAC
16-230-010 through
16-230-082 shall apply when there are five or more blooms per square yard on the average in a given field: Provided, That following the first cutting the bloom count shall be taken only on the current crop. For the purpose of this rule, a "bloom" on clover or alfalfa is defined as any alfalfa raceme or clover head containing one or more open flowers. A "bloom" on mint is defined as any head or spike with one or more open (florets) flowers.
(2) The term "pollen shedding corn" as used in WAC
16-230-082 through
16-230-088 shall be that stage of growth when ten percent or more of the corn plants in any one quarter portion of a field are showing spike anthers.
(3) The time of sunrise and sunset shall be that of the official tables, U.S. Weather Bureau, Yakima, Washington.
(4) "Ready-to-use" means a pesticide that is applied directly from its original container consistent with label directions.
(5) "Picloram" means all registered pesticide products containing 4-amino-3,5,6-trichloropicolinic acid as the potassium salt. This formulation may be known as Tordon.
