The college continually receives requests from outside sources for information about students, both past and present. Under the authority of 20 U.S.C. 1232(g), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, as amended, directs the college to adopt a policy on student education records to insure that information contained in such records is treated in a responsible manner with due regard to the personal nature of the information contained in those records. The college shall annually notify students currently in attendance of their rights under this act.
