(1) This chapter outlines the minimum public health and safety standards for the licensure and operations of transient accommodations in Washington state.
(2) This chapter applies to facilities offering three or more lodging units to guests for periods of less than thirty days. These facilities include, but are not limited to:
(a) Hotels;
(b) Motels;
(c) Bed and breakfast establishments;
(d) Resorts;
(e) Rustic resorts;
(f) Inns;
(g) Condominiums;
(h) Apartments;
(i) Crisis shelters;
(j) Hostels; and
(k) Retreats.

70.62.240 requires the board to adopt rules to assure transient accommodations are operated and maintained in a manner consistent with the public's health and safety. RCW
43.70.110 requires the secretary to charge fees for licensure and RCW
43.70.250 requires the cost of business licensing programs to be fully borne by the licensees.
