Prescriptions for drugs and medical devices must comply with all applicable state and federal laws and be within the ARNP's scope of practice.
(1) An ARNP must sign prescriptions and include the initials ARNP or NP.
(2) An ARNP may not, under RCW
18.79.240(1) and chapter
69.50 RCW, prescribe controlled substances in Schedule I.
(3) An ARNP with prescriptive authority who prescribes controlled substances must be registered with the drug enforcement administration.
